In partnership with UNESCO, Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) and Naturalea welcome you to the ‘Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) for Slope Protection’ workshop. The workshop is held at the Open Air Laboratory (OAL) in Catterline – Shotland in the United Kingdom. The event will be from 26-28 March 2020* under the umbrella of the OPERANDUM Project.
*The date may change due to the coronavirus. For those who applied for the workshop, we will keep you updated via email.
Objectives of the workshop
- to provide the participants with a theoretical background on NBS for slope protection from hydro-meteo hazards;
- to demonstrate how NBS can be effectively deployed onsite. We do this with a two-day hands-on practice session through co-deployment approaches. We make use of local, natural resources and low input requirements;
- to support knowlede exchange and capacity building at both the local and national levels, in line with OPERANDUM objectives.
